Message from the Chair
Our most immediate concern is to shore up our current financial wounds. Given the long hiatus, it is imperative that we ask our member institutions renew their interest in NAFSS through additional funding. To this end, I would ask that each participating institution contribute $2,500 to retain active membership in NAFSS. In order to increase the likelihood for institutional contributions, we will also likely need to "pass the hat" among our individual members. Hence, I would challenge each of you who have previously benefited from this organization through the funding of grant proposals to contribute $500 from one of your university accounts to NAFSS. Such personal contributions from each of us will help convey the message to our university administrators that we are truly committed to see NAFSS steer clear of the iceberg and emerge intact as a leader in the national food safety arena.
